The professional nurse provides holistic care with compassion and respect for clients. She also participates in those activities contributing to prevention of illness and promotion of health. The nursing students continue to serve the people by providing care, health education and also help them in prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation.
The opportunities for a nurse are varied and limitless. A new professional nurse may choose between clinical practice, education, research, management, administration, occupational and industrial nursing.
Neotia Academy Nursing Training Institute wishes to create the finest nursing professionals. It also aims to contribute to the healthcare industry by establishing itself as a learning centre of international repute. Keeping this in mind Neotia Academy Nursing Training Institute was established in the year 2011 with a yearly student intake 30 in B.Sc. Nursing and 40 in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme. At present our student strength is 340 and yearly student intake is 60 in both the programmes. Qualified brilliant experience faculties are there to guide and supervise students. Faculties are helping them to develop & grow them as new professional.
Our graduate has been recruited in government and private sectors including our own hospital - Bhagirathi Neotia Women and Child Care Centre and Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital, Siliguri.
Laboratories are well furnished with models, mannequin and teaching aids. Students can practice all the procedures on mannequin in a simulated environment before their placement in clinical settings.
Residential facilities are there for all students. Very good hostel with all basic amenities. Canteen facilities are there. Quality and quantity of food is good. Hostel and canteen hygiene is adequately maintained.
Library is a treasurer house of Nursing Books (New edition) and Journals. Student can enjoy reading books from 10am to 7pm all the working days and lend books from library.
Our clinical area is our own hospital ( Bhagirathi Neotia Woman and Child Care Centre and Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital) other government hospitals. Students are getting rich exposure in the clinical setting to develop their clinical competency. They are developing various skills like observation, monitoring, mentoring, interpretation, critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and counselling skills as a new Professional. Our dedicated teachers are using various teaching methods like Problem based learning. OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) for students evaluation. Really this is a very hard task on the part of our teachers. Nothing is impossible our faculty has proved this in reality by taking so much of pain to train students in theory & practice. Faculties are taking extra classes for the benefit of our students.
Our institute is affiliated with West Bengal Nursing Council, West Bengal University of Health Sciences and Indian Nursing Council.
